Our mission here at ARVF is to provide age-appropriate programs and activities for children and teens receiving treatment for cancer and other
life-threatening illnesses. We offer creative resources for children and teens, Teen Lounges, Social Activities, Events, and other various programmings to enhance the quality of life for hospitalized adolescents.
Our Victorious 4 Teens Programs
Alicia's Art Cart bridges the gap for older teen patients who may not be mobile and/or in isolation. It is an attractive, mobile, and lockable unit, with shelves and drawers, and is delivered to hospitals fully assembled with age-appropriate items for the older population. The Child Life Specialist customizes each cart with supplies such as oil pastels,
water-color paints, markers, clay, and beading to create artwork,
jewelry, and crafts.
Teen Kits & Bandana Pillows
Our Teen Kits are designed for teens ages 13 and older. The drawstring backpacks are filled with items that provide care and comfort, such as our Teen Activity Journal and handmade Bandana Bands. Our one-of-a-kind Bandana Pillows are handcrafted using 100% cotton (made in the USA) bandanas. This program strives to lift the spirit of a teen with cancer or other life-threatening illness.
Teen Lounges & Enhancements
Designed as a special place for hospitalized teens, Teen Lounges are located all across the country, welcoming patients to take a break from treatment to meet and support
The funding for creating a new, non-existing Teen Lounge, or enhancing/renovating an existing Teen Lounge is provided by ARVF. The goal of this program is to enhance the quality of life for teens with cancer during the many visits and stays at the hospital.
Teen Activities & Events
We also support funding for social activities and/or teen events within the Hospital. Specialty events may include Pizza Parties, Tye-Dye Parties, Movie Nights, Battle of the Bands, Teen Proms, Homecomings, and other creative in-hospital teen social activities.
