It's hard to think about the distant future when your life feels as if it's hanging on by a thread. Its hard to think about a college major when there's an intensive surgery waiting for you in 3 weeks. It can feel overwhelming for someone that isn't facing a life threatening disease or illness, let alone someone who Is. But there's a huge reason to always look to the future. The future gives us hope.
"It's important to always look at the future with positivity, to power the light at the end of your own tunnel."
Thinking about and planning a future gives us the hope that there is one. Planning Christmas forces me to see past my surgery And have hope for the future after it. Planning college helps me to see the future when I'm free from the hospital and free from treatment. Having hope for the future gives us the strength to get through today. To trudge through a seemingly impossible part of our lives, to get to the future. Hope is what fuels our positivity and without hope, we have nothing to fight for.
It's important to always look at the future with positivity, to power the light at the end of your own tunnel. Even when staring at the monster of uncertainty, be hopeful and plan a positive future anyway. Then achieve it. Put your plans into motion and continue to look to the future to see a brighter side of life. This is how I stay sane in the midst of insanity when it's happening around me, even if my future plans are just for the next day. They give me something to look forward to and something to strive for. They make the light at the end of the tunnel feel just a bit closer.
