The Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation awards funding for Teen Lounge Activities to MUSC Children's Hospital to support their Sickle Cell Sisters program!

The teenage girls that are impacted by this program frequently speak to the benefits they receive from connecting with girls that are facing similar challenges. One of our newest members, a 13yr old girl who is vibrantly involved in the community, said “My favorite part of this group compared to all my other activities is getting together and knowing other people that have Sickle Cell just like me.” The same resonates true with a 17yr old girl who has come to the hospital multiple times a year for as long as she can remember. She stated, “It makes us feel like we aren’t alone.” The impact of Sickle Cell Sisters on these teenage girls provides invaluable resiliency and hope.
