"Goin' Bandanas" Bandana Days
Bandana Days were created by friends of Alicia’s because of an experience she has when she returned to school after chemotherapy treatment. The chemotherapy had taken her hair but not her spirit: she was determined to finish school and wore a bandana to cover her hair loss. On her first day back, four different teachers asked her to remove her bandana, not realizing why she was wearing it. Alicia was embarrassed and devastated and so were her friends and family. After Alicia lost her battle with cancer, her friends decided that the school needed an event to raise awareness about the struggles teen cancer patients face. Now, Bandana Days are held in elementary, middle, and high school across the country to raise awareness and money to help the ARVF fulfill our mission. "GET BANDED!"
Get Banded at a community wristband sale! Our wristbands are purple (Alicia’s favorite color) and are inscribed with our motto: “Victorious” 4 TEENS. Simply let us know how many wristbands you need and “Get Banded!”. The ARVF staff will help you coordinate your Wristband Day from start to finish. We provide the wristbands, you provide the fun!

HOST A "THON"
Many organizations raise money and awareness by hosting a "bowl-a-thon", "swim-a-thon", "dance-a-thon", or other kind of "thon". If you, or your son or daughter, participates in any type of sporting or other activity, please consider hosting a "thon" to benefit the Alicia Rose "Victorious " Foundation. This is a rewarding way to spread the word about our mission while having fun with friends or teammates.

Birthday Bash
In October of each year, around the time of Alicia’s birthday, the foundation hosts its signature fundraiser, the Birthday Bash. This event includes a cocktail hour with butlered hors d’ourves, sit-down dinner, dancing, and a variety of auctions for every budget. Last year, over 500 people enjoyed the event. If you are interested in donating an item for our auction or becoming a sponsor or advertiser for the Sixth Annual Birthday Bash, please contact our office.

Donations

• United Way Donation - Whether through the United Way or another corporate giving campaign, employees welcome the opportunity to participate when they can direct their donations toward charities that reflect their concerns. Please remember... if you do participate, the Alicia Rose " Victorious" Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3), is a qualified non-member Donor Option Agency. Kindly ask your company representative for a pledge form and complete the form using your Home Address. In addition, designate the Alicia Rose " Victorious" Foundation in the Donor Choice section along with any other information they may require. Donor-designated gifts to the Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
• Memorial or Tribute Donation - Honor someone special with a memorial or tribute. Make a tax-deductible donation to honor the memory of a loved one who has passed away. You can also pay tribute to a friend or family member on their birthday, graduation, or other special occasion. Or request that someone make a donation in your honor. We will send the honoree an acknowledgement of the gift.
• Matching Gifts - Many companies will match an employee's donation to a charitable organization. If you plan to donate to the ARVF, ask your human resources department if your employer will "double" your donation by matching it.
• Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs - ARVF supporters have spread the word about the foundation by making a donation in lieu of giving favors to their guests. Instead, they give each guest an ARVF wristband and a card explaining their gift. If you are interested in this type of donation, contact our office and we will send you wristbands and share wording that others have used.
